LLNL is committed to being a leader in responsible environmental stewardship. Environmental stewardship is integrated in strategic planning and decision-making processes and the management of work activities through the Integrated Safety Management System.
LLNL’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy
LLNL is committed to protecting workers and the public, and to continual improvement in occupational health and safety performance using the Integrated Safety Management System. Safety and health are a priority in the planning and execution of all work activities at the Lab.
Certifications
The Livermore's site environmental and occupational health and safety management systems meet widely-recognized international standards and demonstrate our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. The International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) 14001 Standard guides the Laboratory's Environmental Management System (EMS) and our strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Similarly, the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 provides the framework for safeguarding our employees' health and safety through the Laboratory's Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). The Laboratory is proud of its independent certification to both of these international standards.
